This Quaint Little Trail Is The Shortest And Sweetest Hike In Louisiana
Louisiana has so many beautiful trails to explore, it’s nearly impossible to hike them all (but wouldn’t that be a great bucket list idea?) Each one offers unique glimpses at our lovely landscape, it’s hard to choose a favorite. If you’re looking to get outdoors and explore but maybe just something short and sweet, then this is the perfect trail for you.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

Their address is 6588 Barataria Blvd, Marrero, LA 70072.

There are also bathrooms and water fountains available, and you can also purchase some guides, insect repellent, books, music, and more from the museum store.

You’ll be surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery Louisiana can offer.

They range from a quarter mile to 1.4 miles.

This .25-mile out-and-back boardwalk trail is great for kids, since it’s not too long, and there’s a ton to look at along the way.

The views are so spectacular, you’ll want to journey on to see what the other trails have in store.

There are also birds, raccoons, armadillos… Just about all the usual swamp creature suspects call this area home.

The .4-boardwalk trail will lead you to a scenic marsh overlook where, on a clear day, you can see for miles. You can get to this trail from the Bayou Coquille Trail (.5 miles).
You can find Barataria Preserve at 6588 Barataria Blvd, Marrero, LA 70072.
