The Breathtaking Overlook In Louisiana That Lets You See For Miles And Miles
Louisiana is full of beautifully scenic nature trails just waiting to be explored. This one particular set of trails gives visitors a chance to see Louisiana’s wetlands like never before, and you’ll have the opportunity to see tons of wildlife. This area is great for kids, so bring the whole family out to enjoy the breathtaking views.

The preserve’s 23,000 acres include bayous, marshes, swamps, and forests.

They have several trails to choose from, and many connect along the way. Most of the trails are under two miles, so you can mix and match to fit your timeframe.

More than 200 species of birds, alligators, turtles, raccoons, snakes, and many others all call the area home. Be sure to be mindful of your surroundings. As you can see in the picture above, this gator is mighty close to the trail!

The trail is half a mile in length and connects with the Marsh Overlook Trail, which is .4 miles long.

Louisiana’s wetlands truly are something special.

There’s seating all around, so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the view. You can also join a ranger for a guided walk down one of the trails. The Wetlands Walk is held every Wednesday-Sunday at 10 a.m. During this free guided tour, you’ll learn all about Louisiana’s swamp and marsh with a knowledgeable guide.
