8 Things New Orleanians Take For Granted… But Shouldn’t
We take so many things for granted, but we live in one of the best cities in the world and it’s nice to slow down and appreciate how special New Orleans truly is.
Fontainebleau State Park, Bayou Segnette State Park, Big Branch National Refuge, and Jean Lafitte National Historic Park and Preserve are just some of the amazing parks and wildlife refuges that are located nearby.
Audubon Park and City Park are both lovely options to spend some time when you don’t have the time to drive out of the city.
Whether you’re hanging out in a small neighborhood bar or you’re looking to party it up on Bourbon Street, there’s always someplace to grab a drink with friends.
There’s a reason people travel from all over the world to try our delicious Creole and Cajun cuisine. We take it for granted!
New Orleanians are resilient, kind, and loyal and you just don’t find that in any city.
We take it for granted, but New Orleans is steeped in history and if you spend an afternoon exploring, you’ll learn more about our amazing history than you ever knew before.
Most of us grew up here, so Mardi Gras is just another holiday for us, but we take this special celebration for granted. Do you remember how old you were when you realized Mardi Gras isn’t a national holiday? I was maybe 6 or 7. I remember feeling so bad for the rest of the country.
You don’t have to travel very far to hear great music. From street performers in the quarter to talented musicians on Frenchman, you don’t have to go far to hear great live music.
