Bread pudding can be a pretty divisive dessert, you either love it or you hate it. If you’re in the latter category, then you should give the bread pudding from Mulate’s a try–it’s so good it’ll put you back in the team bread pudding category. Let’s take a closer look.

You’ll find Mulate’s in the Warehouse District, right in the shadows of the New Orleans Convention Center.

Known as the “Original Cajun Restaurant,” Mulate’s rustic and down to earth interior will make you think you’ve been transported to Cajun Country even though your right smack dab in the Crescent City.

But just you wait, because if the atmosphere doesn’t make you think you’re in Cajun Country, the food certainly will.

Gumbo, shrimp étouffée, boudin, and all your favorite Cajun specialties appear on the menu at Mulate’s.

And the portions are very generous. Their seafood platters and po'boys are massive!

No matter what you get as your main dish, be sure to save room for one of their incredible desserts.

All of their desserts are made in house, and their bread pudding is one of the most popular items on the menu.

Served hot and topped with their homemade butter rum sauce, this is one of the best bread puddings in the state. For anyone on the fence about this divisive dessert, this will turn you into a believer.
