Sometimes, you just need a little break from it all. When you need to escape for an hour or two, there are dozens of hidden gems all around the city that provide a perfect escape from reality when you most need it. In no particular order, here are some of our favorites.
1. The Lakefront
Sometimes, just sitting out by the water can rejuvenate you. The Lakefront is a great option, there’s several benches peppered throughout the area so you can sit back and listen to the waves crash. It’s also a perfect spot to watch the sunset!
2. New Orleans Botanical Garden
Nestled within City Park, visitors can explore the twelve acres of beautifully manicured gardens here. From native plants to tropical gardens, you’ll easily feel at peace in this oasis. On Wednesdays, Louisiana residents may enter for free with a Louisiana ID.
3. Woldenberg Riverfront Park

4. Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden
Just outside the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) is the sculpture garden. Stroll through five acres containing more than 60 sculptures from artists all over the world for a relaxing afternoon.
5. Audubon Park

6. City Park
The 1,300-acre public park is the perfect place to retreat to when you need a break from it all. From the scenic lakes to the jogging paths, there’s something for everyone here. 1 Palm Drive.
