A Drive Down New Orleans’ Loneliest Road Will Take You Miles And Miles Away From It All
Have you ever explored what some people call New Orleans’ loneliest road? River Road in New Orleans might just be the perfect one to choose when you want to get away from it all. Here’s the scoop.
Whenever I want to go on a drive that will allow me to clear my head and get away from it all, I choose River Road.
River Road in New Orleans is one of the most iconic roads and has been around for a very long time.
It follows along the Mississippi River and can be a great way to get out of the city when the larger roads are filled with traffic.
As you continue down the road, you'll come across Rivershack Tavern, pictured here, which is an awesome place to stop on your journey.
You'll notice the levee following you all along the way.
And if you're traveling west, there's a good chance you'll get some epic sunsets!
Oak Alley is one of the most beautiful places you can stop when you travel here.
You'll love the oak-lined path.
In fact there are a number of plantation homes that you can tour while you take a drive down River Road.
Destrehan Plantation, pictured here, is just one of many.
So when you are looking for a drive in the New Orleans area that will take you a million miles away from it all, check out River Road.
I think it will be filled with some truly eye-catching moments...and hopefully some deep relaxation as well!
