The Deep Dish Pizza Joint In New Orleans Would Make Any Chicagoan Proud
When it comes to pizza, there’s a great debate about whether Chicago or New York style reigns supreme. No matter what side of the pizza fence you fall on, this little pizza joint can accommodate you. Their deep dish pizza would make any Chicagoan proud, so grab a fork and let’s dig in.
That’s Amore has two locations, one on St. Charles Avenue and another in Metairie.
Their Metairie location opened up in 2008, and it didn’t take long before they expanded and opened up their second location right on historic St. Charles.
Address: 4441 West Metairie Avenue, Metairie, LA, 70001
Address: 1205 Saint Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA, 70130
Take a seat near the window and watch the streetcars roll by for a quintessential New Orleans experience.
The atmosphere is casual and inviting, so bring the whole gang and get ready to feast on some delicious pizza.
For starters, go ahead and get some of their amazing fried cheese ravioli, waffle pizza fries, or spinach and artichoke dip for the table.
The Chicago style pizzas take a while to cook, so you’re going to want something to snack on in the meantime.
Of course, they have several non-pizza options.
Entrees like lasagna chicken parmesan, and their mouthwatering spaghetti and meatballs (pictured above) are all delicious options if you don’t have the time to wait for a Chicago style pizza.
Let’s talk pizza. This is one of the only places you can get a deep-dish pizza in New Orleans.
They take 45 minutes to prepare, but we promise you, they’re worth the wait.
They have several specialty pizzas you can choose from, or you can build your own.
If you’ve never had a deep dish pizza, you’re in for a real treat. Cheese lovers, this is an absolute must.
Fancy a New York style pizza? No problem.
At That’s Amore, you can have it both ways. These traditional, thin crust pizzas come piled high with whatever toppings you’d like, but you can always go with one of their signature pizzas like BBQ chicken, Alfredo shrimp, or muffuletta.
The New Orleans location is open from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
Feel free to call ahead if you’re wanting a deep dish pizza, that way you won’t have to wait that long when you arrive!
