Big Branch National Wildlife Refuge is less than an hour away from New Orleans, and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to an emerald oasis when you visit this stunning spot.
Located in Lacombe, Big Branch March National Wildlife Refuge is composed of 18,000 acres of beautiful Louisiana scenery.
Established in 1994, the refuge is full of pine flat woods, coastal marsh, and wetlands.
Hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing make Big Branch a nature lover’s paradise.
But for those that like to explore on foot, there are nearly ten miles of walking trails peppered throughout the refuge.
The whole family will love this scenic adventure.
