Fertitta’s Delicatessen first opened in 1927. Not only was it the first Italian grocery in the city, but it’s also the oldest continuously operated restaurant in Shreveport.

Fertitta’s is known for the muffy, their own unique spin of the popular New Orleans sandwich, the muffuletta. Be prepared to fall in love at first bite.
Instead of Italian cold cuts, which are traditionally found in the classic muffuletta, the muffy uses American cold cuts and cheeses, mustard instead of olive oil, and a much thinner bread than their New Orleanian counterpart.
What truly makes this sandwich pop is their house-made olive mix. The sandwich is then toasted until the cheese is perfectly melted and the bread is nice and toasty.
