The Longest Hiking Trail In Louisiana Offers Some Of The Most Breathtaking Views
Louisiana may not be known for having some of the most rugged trails, or even the most scenic, but we certainly have hundreds of trails worth exploring. If you know where to look, you can find some truly amazing hiking trails you’ll love exploring. Let’s take a look at Louisiana’s longest hiking trail.

It runs from Valentine Lake to the Woodworth Town Hall. The Wild Azalea Trail is located in the Evangeline Unit of the Calcasieu Ranger District in the Kisatchie National Forest.

You’ll be surrounded by nature with some of the most breathtaking views as you hike through the rolling hills.

For the ultimate experience, make a weekend out of it—you can camp right on the trail, just make sure your campsite is at least 30 feet away from the trail centerline.

Several picnic tables are nearby, but the majority of the 31 miles of the trail is primitive.

That's when you'll see all of the Wild Azaleas that bloom along the trail.
