Louisiana may not have extensive hiking trails that will challenge you physically like other states, but what we lack in elevation we make up for in gorgeous scenery. If you love spending time outdoors and exploring all of our incredible hiking trails, there’s one in particular that needs to move to the top of your bucket list, and that’s the Longleaf Vista Interpretive Trail which has some of the most unique views in Louisiana.
The Kitatchie National Forest is every nature lover’s paradise. Picture it: over 600,000 acres of rolling hills, lakes, bayous, streams, and hiking trails.
There are countless hiking trails within the Kisatchie, and each one is worthy of a day trip, but the Longleaf Vista Interpretive Trail is an easy trail that the whole family will love.
The loop trail clocks in at about 1.4 miles and rated as moderate, but outside of a few hills, you won’t come across anything too strenuous during your hike.
During your hike, you’ll stumble across the Longleaf Vista Interpretive Recreation Center, which is perfect for a quick stop, maybe a snack, and a restroom break.
