1. Kiroli Park Loop
Located in West Monroe, this beautiful park should go on everyone’s bucket list. All of their trails are less than two miles in length, most of them connect to each other to make a nice little loop through the scenic park. There are multiple playgrounds for the kids, a pond for fishing, a hammock village, and so much more.

2. White Tail Trail
Named for the abundance of white tail deer in the area, this 2.6-mile loop trail is located within Lake Claiborne State Park. You’ll have some stunning views of the lake on your exploration, and of course, keep your eyes peeled for deer.

3. Sugar Cane Trail
If you’ve got some time on your hands, consider heading over to Minden to explore the Sugar Cane Trail. Nestled within the Kisatchie National Forest, this 6.4-mile loop trail circles around Caney Lake, offering beautiful water views.

4. Monkey Trail
This 6.5-mile loop trail located near Keithville is a treat for the eyes and ears. It’s a great trail for biking, hiking, or even horse back riding, and you’ll be able to hear the chimps from the nearby chimpanzee sanctuary, making you feel like you’ve been transported to another world.

5. Acadiana Park Nature Station
Right in the heart of Cajun Country lies a delightful little hidden gem perfect for anyone looking to get lost in nature for an afternoon. There are six miles of hiking trails at this nature station and several of them loop together to make for an easy trail you can knock out in less than an hour.

6. Lake Chicot Loop Trail
Located in Chicot State Park, this loop trail completely encircles Lake Chicot and there are several primitive campsites along the way if you wanted to make a weekend adventure out of it. Wildlife enthusiasts will especially love this trail, as you’ll have tons of opportunities to see armadillos, snakes, deer, pigs, and countless birds.

7. Gorge Run Trail
The Gorge Run Trail is a fun little loop trail that’s just shy of five miles and located in the Bogue Chitto State Park. Kids of all ages will especially love this trail, with all of the rolling hills and water views.
