At Christmastime, Natchitoches, Louisiana Has The Most Enchanting Main Street In The Country
It’s the most magical time of the year! Pretty soon just about everywhere you look will be filled with the holiday spirit. Town squares put up their Christmas trees, restaurants and shops put up decorations, and you’ll be looking for things to do this holiday season. Every year, Natchitoches puts on one of the most spectacular Christmas displays in the country, attracting visitors from all over the nation. The festivities kick off November 23, 2019, and run for six full weeks, so you have plenty of time to check it out.

Established in 1714, it’s the oldest city in Louisiana and worth a drive from any corner of the state.

Just be sure to clear your day. Their historic district is a massive 33 blocks and filled with incredible architecture, historic homes, restaurants, and unique boutiques.

And they’ve been doing it every year since 1927.

It’s one of the oldest community-based holiday celebrations in the United States.

There will be live music, kids activities, arts & crafts, and much more.

Plus an additional 100 set pieces on display.

You’ll also find a large variety of food, including funnel cakes, hamburgers, and the famous Natchitoches meat pie, which is a much try.

Located on the downtown riverbank in the Historic District, this charming little cottage was built in 1965.


There will be a fireworks display to kick off the festival on November 23 at 7 p.m. and then fireworks every Saturday at 7 p.m. throughout December.
