This beautiful Louisiana lake has a beach that rivals the coast, and you’re going to want to check it out. It’s the perfect attraction when you’re in need of a beach day, but don’t want to drive all the way to the Gulf Coast.
The park was established in 1996 and has been a favorite attraction for those in the Jackson Parish area ever since.
It was renamed in 2003 to honor the former Governor Jimmie Davis, who was a native of a nearby town.

From cycling to wildlife viewing, this state park offers something for everyone.
Fish from the dock or bring your boat and use one of the park’s two boat launches to explore the lake on your own.
Pack some sunscreen and a beach umbrella and you’re ready for a day of fun in the sun.
For a truly relaxing experience, bring an inflatable tube and float your cares away in the cool, crisp waters of Caney Lake.
This lovely lake is just one of the many little slices of paradise in this beautiful state of ours.
