You'll Never Forget A Trip To These 10 Waterfront Spots In Kentucky

A lake, river, ocean, or some body of water can often be a relaxing place to visit. Kentuckians are blessed with an abundance of waterways and lakes. Many have been manmade, but we have both the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers as borders. Spending time near one of our gorgeous lakes can just help us forget all our troubles, at least till we leave the water’s edge.

Here are 10 beautiful waterfront spots that you won’t want to forget:

Magnus

This old bridge has been renovated into a newer Louisville attraction. It now has lights, a new paint job and is located at the Waterfront Park, in downtown Louisville. It frames a lovely view of the Ohio to walkers, joggers, and bicyclists.

D. Vish

This amazing collection of fossils is shared by both Indiana and Kentucky, but the easiest way to get to it is IN, exit 0, 201 W. Riverside Drive in Clarksville.

This 1600 acre reservoir was created by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1968. The massive manmade lake crosses into both Carter and Eliott Counties, and is the main draw for the Grayson Lake State Park.

This calm and beautiful lake is located at 1320 Park Road in Mt. Eden. It's the perfect place to drop a fishing line, or just relax by the water.

This incredible scenic area has plenty of breathtaking views, and is a fantastic place to go and relax. It's located at 80 Robert Blair Highway in Corbin.

This is where Yatesville Lake was dammed and is near the town of Louisa, in Lawrence County.

Group Sixty

This manmade lake was created by the damming of Dix River in 1925. The plan was to create hydroelectric power. The lake is 2335 acres spaced between Mercer, Garrod, and Boyle Counties.
