There is nothing like having some fun in the sun during the summer, especially if you happen to be visiting the most epic waterpark in Kentucky. We have a few different water world adventure places, but Hurricane Bay has renowned all over the state. People often pay for a Kentucky Kingdom pass annually, not for the theme park, but for the splash park.
Here are 11 reasons to enjoy summer fun at this epic waterpark in Kentucky:
11. Hurricane Bay has a convenient location.

It is in the heart of Louisville at the Kentucky State Fair Grounds on 937 Phillips Lane.
You can go for one day at general admission. Most people choose to get a pass so they can return at their convenience. Kentucky’s weather is so sporadic, so having the option to return anytime makes for lots of summer fun without the fear of rain.

9. The splash park has an abundance of attractions.
The height required is clearly marked, that way no one gets their feelings hurt at the end. The requirements are for the safety and security of patrons. Following the rules per adventure helps to keep everyone feeling good and having fun.

8. Some are brand new, others have been around a while.
It doesn’t matter if you like to float around, get thrown about by waves, slide for seemingly miles down brightly colored slides, or swim, there is something fun to do here. The splash rides are not just for kids. There are some very adult friendly water adventures to enjoy.
You may think there aren’t any waves at the splash park, but the Big Surf makes you feel like you are at the ocean. This 750,000-gallon wave pull obviously isn’t part of the ocean… but it is probably the closest you will find in Kentucky.
The Deep Water Dive is just that, taking water enthusiasts up 12 stories. You then have a few seconds before you plummet 12 stories back down at a 70 degree angle. It is both terrifying and exhilarating.
You and friends or family can ride together on Deluge. Climb aboard the raft and experience a hydromagnetic rocketslide water coaster. This is a fun way to get wet without completely going under water. Plus, it’s a water coaster, and if you have never rode one… it is a must do at least once in a lifetime.
You get your exercise on some of these, including the Plummet Summit. Stand in line, climb up and catch a raft that can hold 4 to 5 friends or family members. Riders come swooshing down over 52 feet into a luke warm pool of summer coolness. The maximum weight limit is 800 pounds per raft.
The local pool doesn’t have anything on the Hurricane Bay Wave Lagoon. This massive circulating pool is more than 12,000 square feet. If you like to dip in and hop out, you will find the entire area has comfortable deck space, perfect for sunning or just relaxing pool side.
This is a gorgeous view looking at the park before its open. This is a scene you will likely never see during business hours. Fortunately, it is a massive park, so there is plenty of room to prevent overcrowding.
