It may not be December yet and the Thanksgiving turkey has not yet been carved, but many around Kentucky are already planning for plenty of holiday fun this season. Our state offers so many festivities, many of which are held at Kentucky’s most popular attractions. One of these destinations, Lost River Cave in Bowling Green, hosts a unique event in December called the Reindeer Encounter. During this gathering, you can meet Santa and his reindeer Prancer and kick off the holiday season in the most enchanting fashion.
Lost River Cave is an incredible natural wonder in Bowling Green where you can explore underground by boat, among other features. This popular destination is definitely a bucket-list worthy spot, and they also offer a number of unique events throughout the year.
In December, the most popular event is the Reindeer Encounter, which takes place on December 8th and 9th this year. For two days, Lost River Cave welcomes a few very special guests that will make your holiday season downright enchanting.
Santa and his adorable reindeer Prancer pay the cave a visit for up-close encounters that are one-of-a-kind. Your family can spend time with the big guy and his trusted companion for a magical holiday memory.
Tickets are required for this event and they are sold in advance on the event's website (linked below). Ticket sales will open up to the general public on November 16th; however, if you happen to be a Lost River Cave member, pre-sale tickets are already available. Non-member tickets cost $10 each and are required for all adults and children in your group. They tend to sell out fast, so be sure to plan accordingly!
