Even still, many somehow don’t think about the fact that a part of our state’s border is made up of the mighty Mississippi River. A small portion of Kentucky that borders Missouri is where you can head in the Bluegrass to see a river that is filled with history. There are a few scenic parks in the area and one historic park in Kentucky that overlooks the river is perfect for a picnic. Spend time along the Mississippi at Columbus-Belmont State Park.
