My Old Kentucky Home Hosts An Old-Fashioned Christmas Each Year

As a state that celebrates its heritage, it is no surprise that one of its most beloved landmarks is the My Old Kentucky Home historic site. Through January 6, 2019, My Old Kentucky Home becomes "Merry & Bright" as the Victorian mansion is decked out for the holidays. If you're lucky enough to visit after a fresh snow, you can expect scenic views like this.

The home is beautifully decorated with six 12-foot-tall trees, each adorned in a Kentucky theme. You'll also find garland, mistletoe, toy-stuffed stockings, and much more.

As you tour the mansion, you'll be taken through different time periods, from the Colonial days to the 1920s. It's a unique experience to walk through time and see how different generations celebrated Christmas in the Bluegrass State.
