Well, if you want to be a part of something special from the very beginning, then check out this charming new ice cream shop near Brooksville. Although it’s only been open a few weeks, it is easy to tell that the Walcott Whippi Dip has what it takes to become a Kentucky classic.
Every once in awhile you stumble upon a place that you just know is something special.
The new Walcott Whippi Dip combines sweet ice cream, historic surroundings and welcoming service, making it the perfect destination while on a drive throughout Kentucky. It's located near Brooksville, on the edge of a charming farm, and this family-run shop is eagerly awaiting your visit.
There's nothing flashy about the Whippi Dip, which is exactly how it should be.
The family that owns the property decided to open a place that would bring the community together and utilize their small slice of Kentucky heaven. They opened in the spring to a warm welcome from the local community, as well as those passing by.

The area is already known for its historic bridge - the Walcott Covered Bridge.
Right next to the Whippi Dip, you can easily check out the bridge after you've enjoyed your ice cream. Now that the Whippi Dip is open, the bridge has seen more visits from both locals and travelers.
But it's the Whippi Dip that has brought this area back to life.
The couple that owns Walcott Whippi Dip aims to create a place where the community can safely gather and enjoy each other and the scenery. They also want to make it an affordable place where families can make memories - including their own grandchildren.
And in case you're wondering, the ice cream is pretty darn good.
They have a variety of ice cream (including moose tracks, pictured here), shakes, sundaes, snow cones, and soft serve. They also sell hamburgers, pulled pork, hot dogs and various sides, so you can easily enjoy an entire delicious meal while visiting.
The family has lovingly shared their farm - and their ice cream - with Kentucky, and we couldn't be happier.
Right next to the shop, you can visit a few of the farm's animals, walk over to a delightful creek that rushes through the property or simply sit at a picnic table and take it all in. They are open Thursday - Saturday 11am - 8pm and Saturday 1pm - 8pm.
