This comes at no surprise and because of this long-running tradition, the Bluegrass State is filled with many picturesque horse farms. There is one particular farm that is recognizable by almost every Kentuckian and is surely one of the most photographed farms in the country. Manchester Farm was purchased by Mike G. Rutherford in 1976 and he's seen much success raising top horses throughout the years.

In early 2016, Manchester Farm was sold to Brad Kelly, owner of the famous Calumet Farm, another iconic horse farm in Kentucky.
But Kelly has allowed Rutherford to retain possession of the main 126 acres of Manchester Farm for five years or until February of 2022.

Rutherford's main residence is in Houston, but his love and passion for Kentucky is undeniable thanks to the care he's put into this incredible farm.
Manchester Farm has been the backdrop of many movies and commercials over the years, including scenes from Gone with the Wind.

And of course it's been featured in countless publications from Southern Living to Travel and Leisure Magazine.
But Kentuckians know this farm as the heart of horse country and an iconic place in our state.
