When the holiday season rolls around, we can all use some extra magic and cheer. There’s a reason those cheesy Christmas movies are so popular and a lot of it has to do with the perfectly decorated, charming small town that is always the backdrop to the predictable story line. But couldn’t we all use some over-the-top decorations and predictability these days? Maker’s Mark thinks so, as they are hosting their Small Town Bright Lights contest. Kentucky’s very own distillery will send the pros out to one lucky town to deck the halls and so much more. You can nominate your favorite Kentucky town and we happen to think some of the cities in our state make for wonderful holiday destinations.
The Maker's Mark Distillery in Loretto is a wonderful holiday destination on its own and this year it is going to spread that Christmas cheer.
The Maker's Mark Small Town Bright Lights contest will choose one small town from across the country and will swoop in to get it ready for the holidays. You can nominate your town through the link below.

Grand Rivers is another favorite holiday destination, mostly thanks to the incredible lights display at Patti's.
Lighthouse Landing also decorates, but can you imagine if this lakefront town was decked out even more? If you've never been to Grand Rivers at Christmas, check out Patti's and its display which is already all lit up.
Ashland is another favorite Christmas town in Kentucky that would be a great choice for the Small Town Bright Lights contest.
Complete instructions are available through the link below, but you'll just need to post a photo and explain why your town deserves to be decked out in dazzling decorations this holiday season.
The Maker’s Mark Small Town Bright Lights contest is such a great way to spread holiday cheer. If you think your town deserves to be decked out and transformed into a winter wonderland, be sure to nominate it by November 13th. And even if a Kentucky small town doesn’t win, there are still plenty of places to celebrate the holidays in the Bluegrass State.
