Visiting other places is fun, but most likely you’ll end up yearning to come back to Louisville for a number of reasons. The fact is, living in Louisville is so amazing that it ruins traveling or moving to other cities. Here are a few ways living in Louisville ruins you for life.
No where else is more passionate about sports than those in Louisville. Whether you're a UofL or UK fan, the sports scene in Louisville is the most fun out of any other city.
Forecastle festival just ended, but we have a ton of more music events and festivals to enjoy this year. Some other festivals are the Louder Than Life Festival and the Kentucky Reggae Festival.
We have cute, quirky stores that you can't find anywhere else. Louisville has an amazing amount of locally-made goods compared to other cities.
Here in Louisville we have our own week-long celebration including the largest fireworks display in North America. This all leads up to the most exciting two minutes in sports -- the moment in Louisville where most people are glued to the television screen or on the track, shouting excitedly. Other places just seem a little dull compared to our grand celebrations.
We have the largest zoo in Kentucky and it's filled with amazing exhibits for everyone to enjoy. Many special events are also held on the property, such as the "Worlds Largest Halloween Party," movie showings, and more.
Pictured above is Angel's Envy Distillery, and it's one of the reasons Louisville is great. If you're a lover of bourbon you won't find a better city for distillery tours and bourbon tasting.
Lights under Louisville! Located in the Mega Cavern, lights under Louisville is the largest underground Christmas lights display. The lights look more brilliant here than anywhere else.
Louisville tap water is something that most people take for granted. It is some of the purest in the country, and you can definitely taste the difference when you visit other cities.
We have an amazing parks system, filled with beautiful Kentucky wildlife. Going from this lovely meadow to a boring playground in another city is just disappointing.
Our chefs in Louisville are amazing and the food here is so diverse. Eating in another city will just make you miss the flavors of ours.
The Old Louisville neighborhood will be something you miss if you leave the city. The beautiful stained glass windows, brick laying, and ornate decorations are so fun to view as you walk down the street.
Other museums just won't compare, especially since a few of our museums are free of charge. The Frazier History Museum, 21c Art Museum, and The Science Center are a few of the best places to explore and learn.
