Living in Kentucky is an absolute dream for those of us who love the great outdoors. With gorgeous rivers, pristine forests, and an abundance of wildlife, we don’t take for granted how good we have it when it comes to places of natural beauty in Kentucky. We like to spend a lot of time out in it and there are a few hidden gems we adore. When you want a riverside trail to stroll along, you can’t do much better than the Dupree Nature Preserve Loop in Kentucky.
The Dupree Nature Preserve Loop is a little-known trail that meanders alongside the Kentucky River and is thankfully peaceful. You’re not likely to see a lot of other people while you’re hiking this lovely trail.
It’s an easy trail to traverse and is only 2.9 miles long. While you’ll have to leave your dog at home for this one, it will afford you the peace and quiet that you seek on a riverside trail in Kentucky.
When you start the trail, you’ll be greeted by informational signs that will educate you on the ecological efforts being done at this nature preserve as well as the flora and fauna you are likely to encounter on this trail.
Be sure to bring your camera with you because not only will you enjoy serene riverside views, but the flowers, fungi, birds, and other beautiful aspects of nature will present so many opportunities for capturing lovely scenes of nature.
Though it’s an easy trail, there are relaxing spots with benches that afford a lush view while you take a break or if you simply wish to sit and take in the sounds of the breeze in the branches and the songs of the birds that sit upon them.
While the best times to enjoy this trail are March through May, it’s worth coming here in the fall when the leaves start to change colors and walk along a multicolored riverside that will make for a breathtaking stroll.
Whenever you come here, you’re sure to be treated to delightful scenes of beauty and enjoy peace and serenity that will soothe your worries away and give you a wonderful respite from the stresses of life.
