Beautiful scenery always makes food taste better, so you can imagine there are many places around Kentucky where this is the case. A new lakefront restaurant opened this summer along popular Lake Barkley and it’s quickly becoming the perfect gathering place for boaters, vacationers and locals. The Thirsty Turtle Tavern at Green Turtle Bay Resort serves delicious pizza and other items that definitely taste even better by the water.
The new Thirsty Turtle Tavern is located within the Green Turtle Bay Resort in lovely Grand Rivers.
Tie up your boat and walk just a few steps to reach the front of the tavern. There is space to eat and drink inside, at the bar or outside in the backyard-like surrounding area.
There's a small stage for live music, large lawn games, perfect for the whole family, and of course amazing views of the lake. The tavern is open to the public, so you don't have to be staying at the resort to pay it a visit.
The menu includes gourmet pizzas and grilled cheese sandwiches, a variety of baskets like Fish & Chips, wings and sides. There's also a full bar with a wide selection of beer, wine and spirits.
The Thirsty Turtle Tavern is the perfect addition to this already entertaining area of Kentucky.
