Summer is when Kentucky comes alive with festivals and events for every taste and interest. If you like wine, then you’re in luck! You don’t have to go to Napa Valley to taste some of the best wines around. Just attend the Kentucky Wine & Vine Fest right here in the Bluegrass State!
The Kentucky Wine & Vine Fest takes place at the Jessamine County Fairgrounds on June 17, 2023. Jessamine County is where the first commercial winery in North America was founded by John James Dufour way back in 1799!
Admission is an entry fee of $5 and 10 tasting tickets for $25. You’ll receive a commemorative glass to take home with you! The night before the main event is the Hometown Boys Concert with John Michael Montgomery for $50 General Admission.
You’ll have the pleasure of tasting delicious wines from 13 of Kentucky’s most magnificent and award-winning wineries. Be sure to visit their individual tasting rooms throughout the year and tour their beautiful vineyards!
You’re certainly going to want to fill up on some scrumptious food to soak up the wine you’ve tasted, and there will be several food trucks on hand to satiate your taste buds. See if you can find the perfect pairing!
Best of all, you won’t need to find a babysitter as you can bring the kids along and there’s a full inflatable playground where they can burn off steam and you can take a moment to sit and relax nearby while they play.
Take part in the Run for the Merlot obstacle course and see if you can navigate it without spilling a drop. You’ll be glad you brought your designated driver!
You’ll find vendors set up throughout the event with arts, crafts, hot sauces, clothing, candles, foodstuffs, and much more! Each year, everyone has a blast at this event, so make sure to get yourself there this year!
