Let’s be honest…where else in the country would you expect to find a long-running, popular festival called Hillbilly Days? Kentucky proudly claims this fun-filled festival as its own and it will return this April for its 44th year. Thousands of people visit this 3-day long festival in Pikeville and there may not be a more unique gathering in the region. Hillbilly Days is as fun and festive as it sounds, so perhaps this year is the time to visit this unique festival in Kentucky.
Pikeville is a lovely mountain town in Kentucky that is truly worth a visit for a variety of reasons.
This tradition began back in 1977, so it will celebrate 44 years of fun in 2020. An endearing and festive gathering, Hillbilly Days has been raising money for Shriners' Children's Hospital in Lexington and continues this good work year after year.

Thursday through Saturday during this April weekend are filled with a variety of activities, concerts, entertainment, food, and more.
The entire town participates in the fun and the festival attracts visitors from all over the world. One of the best parts of the weekend takes place on Saturday with the Hillbilly Parade.
You'll see a variety of genres, dancers, and locals hopping up to participate in the song and dance. There is even a big time performer playing at the Appalachian Wireless Arena - Hank Williams Jr. (tickets are extra).
Hillbilly Days is great for all ages and the kids will love the several rides that take over the streets.
And for over 40 years, the event has raised money for a wonderful cause, while also becoming one of the best, biggest, and most unique festivals in Kentucky.
