The ambiance and vibe of North of Bourbon is total, old-school New Orleans, too: dim lighting, cozy seating, and jazz music making for a marvelous dining experience.
Next, onto the mains. Muffuletta, but make it Kentucky. Swapping plain, old ham for KY-aged country ham, this classic LA sandwich also has bologna, salami, smoked provolone cheese, olive salad, lettuce, tomato, jalapeño mayo (Duke's, of course!), and local bread.
Craving comfort in a bowl? Order the Seafood Clemenceau, a classic New Orleans dish that appears on many a NOLA menu, like the Dooky Chase Restaurant. In this version, Chef Leah Chase serves it with fresh Louisiana strawberries (when they're in season) to add brightness in both taste and appearance.
