Hit Up These ATV Trails In Western Kentucky And Leave Muddy And Happy

For many, the muddier and more “off the grid” the better and there are many off-road destinations throughout the Bluegrass State. If you do have an ATV, dirt bike, or side-by-side (no jeeps or trucks allowed and they do not offer rentals) and you’re looking for a new spot to visit, check out West Kentucky ATV Recreational Area. These ATV trails in western Kentucky are well-maintained, lesser known, and perfect for a day when you want to get muddy and leave happy.

If you have an ATV, dirt bike, or side-by-side sitting in your garage that's begging to be taken out, you'll want to consider a visit to West Kentucky ATV in Madisonville. It's about two hours from Louisville and close to many cities in western Kentucky, making it ideal for a weekend getaway or day trip.

The park offers 20.6 miles of trails that vary in scenery and difficulty. The trails were built on 856 acres of reclaimed strip mine, located outside of Barnsley in Western Kentucky.

Visitors who have discovered this hidden gem love that it is well-maintained, clean, and offers exciting trails for all levels of drivers and types of vehicles (please note that jeeps and trucks are not allowed).

You are almost certain to leave muddy after riding here and you can't help but leave happy after spending time in the woods, away from everyday life.

The park is open most days of the year, but is closed on all state and federal holidays. Be sure to follow the link below for exact hours and to read through all of the rules and regulations.

While you're there, the park offers restrooms, a shelter and picnic tables, and is about 7 miles from Madisonville if you need a place to spend the night. It's also not far from other fun-filled areas of Kentucky if you want to make a weekend trip out of your visit.
