Whether you’re looking for a stop on your next road trip or a unique destination, this sweet shack in Kansas is the perfect place to start.
Welcome to the Sugar Shack, a sweet spot hiding out in Ellsworth, Kansas that's bursting at the seams with flavor. They are experts in sweet treats, and take plenty of input from people in the community to figure out what sweet combinations they'll serve next.
The Sugar Shack has been satisfying sweet tooth cravings since 2017, starting with their shaved ice, coming in many flavors. Pictured is what's called a "snow plow" which is shaved ice with a creamy soft serve center. If you're feeling brave, you can even ask for them to surprise you.
They also have plenty of uniquely created sundaes and soft serve creations like this Over the Rainbow here. They're always working on new flavors and combinations, so don't be afraid to try something new this time around.
We were surprised to see that in addition to the shakes, soft serve, and shaved ice, they also do Taco Tuesday at the Sugar Shack as well, and we couldn't be more delighted. If you're here for sweets, maybe savory is something worth having beforehand. Mom always said not to ruin your dinner with sweets!
Other than their savory items, you can also enjoy a variety of baked goods that go perfectly with a cup of coffee here at the Sugar Shack, during their morning hours Wednesday through Friday.
Free your sweet tooth with treats like this Funky Monkey here from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. daily, with additional morning hours from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays through Fridays.
As you might notice when you visit, they also have bike rentals available, which is a fun way to explore the town without wasting all that road trip gas. Why not stretch your legs a little?
