We think a winter visit to Garden City is especially magical. Garden City, Kansas weather is relatively mild, considering what it's like in nearby states. The city gets around 21 inches of snow a year, which is less than the national average, so you're not likely to be trapped in a blizzard.

Of course, if you visit during the holiday season, you'll find Christmas lights and a parade, plus plenty of holiday cheer.

Another great winter attraction in Garden City is the Lee Richardson Zoo. This AZA-accredited zoo is home to more than 100 species of animals. Many of the animals tend to be more active when there's a bit of a chill in the air, making winter a great time to visit.

Another Garden City favorite is Hidden Trail Brewing. This is one of our favorite family-friendly breweries in Kansas. There are arcade games and board games here, plus it's dog-friendly.
