Sometimes when you’re planning a trip, the ultimate destinations are sometimes the hardest to plan for. Instead of brainstorming at home, check out some of the ideas we’ve got! Today’s pick is a lake The call of sandy beaches is strong when that first warm air hits you in the summer, but you can let it carry you to Big Hill Lake.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
Imagine yourself sitting on the beach, except it's nice and quiet, other than the wind in the trees and the splash of people in the lake. Oh wait, you're not at the beach, you're in Kansas!
Here at the lake, there are beautiful rock outcroppings, places to fish, and much more. Even finding wildlife to photograph or enjoying a nice camping experience can make your trip memories last forever.
Also at the lake is the Big Hill Lake Horse Trail, which is 17 miles long and beautiful if you have the time to travel it. There are tethering areas, three parking areas, and overnight camping spots for trail riders.
If you know of great places in Kansas that make for wonderful destinations, we’d love to hear about them. Send information to our nomination page or comment on Facebook!
