All of the amazing food here more than makes up for the underrated appearances. Ignoring what you might read from the outside, come check out what’s cooking on the inside of these underrated Kansas restaurants.

This tiny spot hiding out in small town Kansas has a lot of flavors you'll easily recognize from childhood. Whether it's chicken and noodles, chicken fried steak, or hot beef sandwiches. All of their food is homemade with a touch of love, just like you'd have at home.

Christy's is way up in Kansas City, but don't let that deter you. This joint is just like any small town stop, except they have some of the largest (and tastiest) tenderloin sandwiches ever.

What looks like a tiny shack you may pass during a drive is actually a place to get giant, mouthwatering burgers like this one. It's a big meal, so come hungry!

Speaking of small town buildings, this one doesn't seem like too much from the outside, but makes some of the tastiest homemade pies around. Pair that up with their home style lunches and you've got a winner.

You probably didn't expect this easily-passed building to be a pizza joint, but it is! Their pizzas are both homemade and delicious, which is all you need for a good slice.

Another great small town spot that doesn't look too pretty is Crazy R's, where you can get a killer pork tenderloin or something more hearty like a steak or burger. Add on some fried sides and you'll be satisfied with one of our favorite Kansas restaurants.

This amazing place in Liberal makes some great home made breakfasts of all shapes and sizes. You can enjoy anything from skillet scrambles to french toast and fruit. Don't go easy on the honey sauce!

On the outside, this cafe looks a little overgrown and not too bright, but on the inside, you'll find amazing food as well as a miniature library.
