Small Town Kansas Is Home To The Longest 3-D Sculpted Brick Mural In The United States

Kansas is home to a few wonders that not many have heard of. Did you know about this beautiful art piece in Kansas? It’s the longest 3-D sculpted brick mural in the whole United States. Wow! Run your eyes over this beauty and see what features it holds.

Welcome to Concordia, Kansas, where you'll find many a kind face and even more to see.

What you may notice about this brick wall is that upon closer inspection, it's not flat or painted whatsoever. Instead, it's a completely beautiful carved scene.

The Whole Wall Mural is 140 feet long, and uses 6,400 bricks in total. In the USA, this is the #1 longest 3-D sculpted brick mural.

This stunning mural by Catharine Magel (designer) and Mara Smith (lead sculptor) covers the exterior wall of a local museum building, and features highlights of the history of Cloud County.

Notable carvings to spot are the beehive kilns that made these very bricks, churches, the train, wheat, and beautiful sunflowers.

If you're lucky, you can spot the "easter eggs" hiding in among the carvings. There are a few!

If you'd like to visit the museum, they are open from Tuesday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. unless otherwise stated.
