The Magical Wizard Of Oz Festival In Kansas You Don’t Want To Miss
There’s something about The Wizard of Oz that each and every Kansan remembers, whether it’s from the novels, the movie, or a play you’ve watched. It’s just a fact of life that Kansans will be forever remembered as the place where Dorothy lived. This Wizard of Oz festival is the perfect place to express love for the movie without hearing all those corny jokes we get from other states.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

So far, they've got a great museum, winery, and taco shop that all embrace their love of the story.

It's called OZtoberFest, and you definitely should mark it on your calendar this year.

Wristbands are necessary for bouncy houses and museum activities, and food is also at your own expense.

You'll spend the day enjoying a street dance, a Toto look-alike contest, a character costume contest, and plenty others located around the square.

They have food contests of their own, a puppet show, and special guests, including Oz enthusiasts, writers, and historians from far and wide.

Who wouldn't want an excuse to dress up as your favorite character and enjoy this fun-filled Wizard of Oz festival right here in Kansas? After all, it's the best place to have one!

Make sure to mark that October 6th in your calendar this year, and remember that Wamego is only a drive away.
