2. Fort Scott
Fort Scott has an incredibly charming main street scene, plus plenty of outdoor opportunities like Gunn Park. Explore the Gordon Parks museum and the Fort Scott National Historic Site before heading to bed in a welcoming bed and breakfast.
3. Cottonwood Falls
Cottonwood Falls has another one of those classic main streets we all fall in love with. It displays their historic courthouse at the head of the street, making you feel like this road was the beginning of the whole town. Atchison has plenty of history at every turn, but did you know it's also one of Kansas's haunted hot spots? It's truly a great weekend when it's filled with frights.
Russell has legendary beautiful sunsets, plenty of classic Kansas scenery, and plenty to do in town. Check out some local antiques, grab something to eat at Meridy's (I recommend the steak!)
