Before the 80s, an Atlas E intercontinental ballistic missile with a 4 megaton warhead lived here. Today, you wouldn't guess how far it has changed to become a home.
What you see here is known as Subterra Castle, a renovated home for Edward and Dianna Peden who have filled it with love and life.

With a lot of cleaning, effort, and love, the space has transformed into an eclectic blend of bright colors covering industrial scenes.
Inside, you'll find that some of the space is still very plain, while other areas are filled with color and life.

Just look at all that color! Plus, they've kept some of the original equipment around for their tours, so they don't lose the history of the place. It's gone a long way since it was first bought in 1982, that's for sure.
You used to be able to stay overnight in this piece of history, but as far as we know, they aren't accepting guests for a little while.

I, for one, eagerly await when we can stay here again! For now though, we'll have to be happy with a tour of the place.
However, you'll find that they're great company to keep, and some of the most unique Kansans around.
