Which state parks should I visit in Kansas?

There are 28 state parks in Kansas. In Scott City, there is the 1,020-acre Lake Scott State Park. Among the lovely features here include bluffs, canyons, and springs. You can boat and fish on the 100-acre Lake Scott as well as explore hiking trails or go on a horseback ride. For a side of U.S. history with your park visit, head to Topeka’s Brown V. Board of Education National Historic Site. Here, you can visit the Monroe Elementary School, one of four segregated schools in Topeka. In 1954, legal segregation within public schools ended due to this case. You can learn all about it here as well as explore the nature trail and picnic when the Kansas weather is nice.

Within its over 82,000 square miles, you’ll find many lakes in Kansas. Bordering both Russell and Lincoln County, there’s Wilson Lake.
