They need the extra funding to raise babies for other zoos who may not have the facilities or extra hands. however, the more you spend, the more you get. The biggest admission package is $40 per adult, and includes 10 animal encounters and a souvenir photo. So really, you're paying extra for the chance to feed or pet animals you can't at regular zoos.
