If you are looking to get out and enjoy these cool autumn days, hop in the car and drive one of these 10 country roads in Kansas that are pure bliss in the fall:
1. Route 66
Quite possibly one of the most iconic roads in all of Kansas (and America!) is that of Route 66; the "Main Street of America" that runs from California all the way up to Illinois.
2. US-36 Northwest Meander
Also home to the famous US-36 Treasure Hunt, this stretch of road spans over 13 Kansas counties and several diverse landscapes.

5. Flint Hills Scenic Byway
People who write off Kansas as being "flat" and "boring" have OBVIOUSLY never driven along the oh-so gorgeous Flint Hill Scenic Byway...
6. Gypsum Hills Scenic Byway
What gives these rolling hills their red hue? It's the abundance of gypsum—a mineral consisting of sedimentary deposits— that line the rugged landscape. (Hence the name.)
7. Tuttle Creek Scenic Drive
Running alongside Manhattan's beautiful Tuttle Creek Lake is this 53-mile road, which loops through the Flint Hills and past these clear blue waters.
8. Glacial Hills Scenic Byway
If you think Atchison looks pretty in this picture, wait until you see it (along with White Cloud and Leavenworth) and its changing colors in person...
9. Wetlands & Wildlife National Scenic Byway
Don't forget to grab your camera before driving the Wetlands & Wildlife National Scenic Byway, as you are sure to see magnificent birds flying over this "Eight Wonders of Kansas" gem.
10. Western Vistas Historic Byway
Don't worry, Western Kansas; we didn't forget about you or your beautiful 102-mile Western Vistas Historic Byway, which runs by historic Scott City, Wallace, Sharon Springs, and their various museums, as well as historic and natural landmarks.
