Sheridan Wildlife Area Is A Hidden Spot In Kansas Made For A Great Day Outdoors
Nature day, anyone? If you’re on the lookout for a great hidden spot that’s secluded and perfect for a day trip with the family, here’s a great one for you. We think the outdoors are something to be enjoyed everywhere, not only at large state parks.
Welcome to the stunning Sheridan Wildlife Area, a secluded section of Kansas that's not often noticed by many.
Though there are many trees, you'll notice the beaver population has no problem knocking over a fair few, blocking off sections of the river to create pools. Those pools are a big favorite of local wood ducks, so make sure you grab your camera!
We also think that you can find a lot here you might not even be looking for! If you're into hunting for agate or other stones native to the area, this is a good spot to pick some up. Time to make good use of that rock tumbler in the garage.
To make sure the park is still open or closed due to weather, you’ll want to keep an eye on the KWPT website.
There’s so much out there to cover, we’re never sure if we’ve missed anything. If you know what we should write about next, we’d love to hear about it!
