Exploration Place in Wichita is a great science museum in Kansas. It’s perfect for adults and kids alike and has a ton of exhibits about different branches of science. What many people don’t know is that one of the best river walks in Kansas is hiding right behind the museum. This easy paved trail is a great opportunity to explore the area, get some exercise, and check out some amazing architectural artwork while you’re at it!

Exploration Place is located right beside the mighty Arkansas River. Not only is this place an amazing museum, but it's also an architecturally beautiful one.

The building was designed by world-renowned architect Moshe Safdie. It's a 100,000-square-foot masterpiece with a reflecting pond and incredible floor-to-ceiling windows.
The close proximity to the Arkansas River means there is a magnificent river walk right behind the museum.

One lesser-known attraction along this river walk in Kansas is a giant troll hiding in the sewer. This seven-foot-tall goblin is easy to miss if you don't know where he's located.

You can find this goblin on the east bank of the river to the right of the old Westar Power building. He's hidden away with no signs indicating his presence, so keep your eyes peeled!
