There’s a lot of restaurants spread around our beautiful state, and it’s a little tough to keep track of them all sometimes. Thankfully, we have plenty of reminders every time we travel about all the places we may miss along the way. This little spot in Salina has a party potato that’ll make your taste buds boogie. Welcome to Salina's very own Hickory Hut BBQ, a restaurant that started out as a traveling shop selling in grocery store parking lots and grew to become the brick-and-mortar store you see today.
Known in Salina since 1983, Hickory Hut worked hard to stick around, and became a favorite of many Kansans. In 2005, they opened their current location to offer both drive-through and dine-in options to their ever growing market.
One menu item standing out from the rest of the barbecue is the Santa Fe Party Potato, a creation that will easily fill you up whether you choose pork toppings or not.
The Santa Fe Party Potato is topped with the house baked beans, southwest sauce, butter, cheese, and spices. For an extra price, you can also add on pork to turn your loaded potato into a whole meal.
Loaded baked potatoes like the Party Potato are a great option for those of us who want to combine two of our favorite things. Why have fries and pulled pork when you can have a party potato?
