These 10 Little Known Restaurants In Kansas Are Hard To Find But Worth The Search
If you’re feeling hungry, Kansas is one of the best places in the world to be. From tender BBQ to to-die-for fried chicken, there is no shortage of palate pleasing options to go around. However, if you are looking for the cream of the crop in terms of Kansas restaurants, you may have to do a little searching. Lucky for you, we have done most of the work and have come up with these 10 little known and hard-to-find restaurants that are well worth the trip:
1. Chicken House (Olpe)
Located near Emporia, this small town Chicken House is home to some truly "finger lickin' good" fried chicken and homemade desserts! (The pie? I die!)
2. Ellsworth Steakhouse (Ellsworth)
All you really need to know about this locally owned and family operated restaurant is that they specialize in a Hangover Burger. Meet you there Saturday morning?
3. Brand N Iron Bar and Grill (Princeton)
The picture says it all: Brand N Iron is famous for serving delicious locally raised pork and beef entrees at affordable prices. (They even have coupons on their website, which is the quickest way to both my heart and stomach.)
4. Todd's Diner (Gardner)
Only at Todd's can you get FRESH, all-you-can-eat crab legs, shrimp, and fried oysters on a Friday or Saturday night. In our opinion, that's the only way to end a long week!
5. Santa Fe Cafe (Overland Park)
Sure, you have your choice of chain restaurants in Overland Park... but can any of those generic places serve a homemade pancake that tastes THIS good? (No; the answer is no.)
6. Exit 14 (Gypsum)
Homemade chicken fried steak and gravy, meatloaf, and open-faced hot beef sandwiches... are you drooling yet?
7. Farley's Bar and Grill (Lindsborg)
Farley's is the perfect mix of both unique and yummy dishes (like this Asian Spinach Wrap with Shrimp), as well as tried-and-true traditional. (Catfish, anyone?)
8. Club 4 Corners (Scranton)
Since 1994, 4 Corners has served 5-star entrees with a side of friendly, down home service to the small town of Scranton!
9. Dutch Kitchen Restaurant (Hutchinson)
If you think these gigantic, homemade cinnamon rolls look good, wait until you taste them! (Wait until you also try their scrumptious pies, juicy meats, and filling sides.)
10. The Spot (Herington)
Now this is my kind of a salad! (Not a salad person? Another veggie option is the Spot's perfectly deep fried pickles.)
