Welcome to the beautiful Flint Hills Discovery Center, a place where people of all ages can see and learn about the natural beauty inside Kansas.
35,000 square feet of facility leaves plenty of room to explore their permanent and temporary exhibits, as well as the just-for-kids spots and the garden terrace and trail outside. Why not make a day of it? There's more than plenty to do and see here.
Permanent exhibits cover our beloved natural grasslands and the wildlife that lives within them. They go in-depth about the way things work together, while still making the learning experience entertaining.
Not only do they have diverse displays to explore, but they also have various events where you can experience nature in more than one way. This one-of-a-kind theater experience is something you definitely shouldn't miss out on. It's more than just a show!
They even have live specimens kept here to show you what some of the smaller residents of Kansas look like. This one's a tiger salamander, our state amphibian!
If you’d like to follow up learning about bison with seeing them in person, check out Sandsage Bison Range where you can see live ones in their natural habitat.
