Coming up on April 4, 2020, is the 50th Anniversary Of Apollo 13.

To celebrate that amazing event, they're closing the Cosmosphere early at 3 p.m. for festivities involving astronauts, team members, and more.
Apollo 13 was the seventh mission in the Apollo space program with a crew on board, and the third meant to land on the moon. After the crew had to cancel the mission early due to an oxygen tank fail, they returned safely on April 17th, 1970.

If you weren't old enough to follow the story live, the film published in 1995 is the perfect way to feel that fright. It'll keep you on the edge of your seat for sure.

For the gala, two types of tickets are available.

The first version runs $32-$45 and gets you entry into Hutch's Fox Theatre for a panel with Apollo 13 astronauts and team members. Imagine seeing the module from the outside after living through such a stressful situation where they were stuck inside until they came home.
The second version gets you into the gala itself, running you much more in price, but getting you into an event you won't forget.

It includes the panel discussion, three day access to the Cosmosphere, valet parking, cocktail reception, professional photos with the Apollo 13 astronauts Jim Lovell and Fred Haise, and the gala dinner itself. What a package!
Even if you don't want to attend the Gala, you can attend with normal rates and view the module sans astronauts.

If you missed out on the childhood field trips to the Cosmosphere or were out of school before Kansas kids started taking field trips there, you'll want to check it out! It's a place where you'll want to see and do everything.
The Kansas Cosmosphere is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
