Sometimes we’re lucky enough to pick a scenic drive when we’re headed across state, but other times we have to search for it ourselves. There’s a wonderful list of beautiful places in Kansas to go if you are looking to immerse yourself in our state’s beauty, and you’re looking at it! Of course, these places are only the start to many beautiful locations all over our state. Have you been to all of these yet?
1. Wilson Lake
This beautiful lake and state park is great for any outdoor activity you like, but adventuring over the curiously shaped rock formations is by far our favorite.
Address: 3 State Park Road, Sylvan Grove, KS 67481
2. Elk Falls
One beautiful fall near an old bridge and an even older town makes Elk Falls a quiet destination, but one we love nonetheless.

3. Flint Hills
Our beautiful Flint Hills spans plenty of area in Eastern and Central Kansas, and we recommend exploring as much of it as you can. Just pick a road and go!

This miniature castle makes the younger ones feel like queens and kings, but those of us who know the story of the journey that marked this location will feel more like explorers. We'd like to imagine Francisco de Coronado would appreciate what we've done with the place.

11. Kanopolis State Park
Kanopolis State Park is gorgeous, as the first state park should be, but the Horsethief Trail is really the best part. There are caves and plenty of smooth rock to run your hands over during the hike. It's great for any age, as long as you keep an eye on your footing.
Address: 200 Horsethief Road, Marquette, KS 67464
