There’s no other place on earth that does tenderloins like we do them here in the great state of Iowa. We know our pork…after all, there are actually more pigs here than people.
Iowans are serious about tenderloins.
You could say it's the state sandwich.
That bun is just a garnish. It's an afterthought, or something to help you hang on to the hot breaded pork.
The fries are nice, but really unnecessary. A proper Iowa tenderloin is a meal. For some, it's two meals.

In 2016, the Iowa Pork Producers Association named Nick's in Des Moines home of the best tenderloin in the state.
It's the first time in the 14 years of the contest that they've picked a Des Moines restaurant for the #1 spot. Nick's was in competition with 384 other restaurants across Iowa.
1901 Chop Haus in Traer took second place last year.
Even if you don't feel like eating a tenderloin, this restaurant belongs on your bucket list. The food is amazing, local, and carefully prepared.

They are located in Fairfield and also get rave reviews.
