One of the most famous dairy farms in the world is actually located right here in Iowa, and they’re the makers of the incredibly delicious Maytag blue cheese. It involves a time-consuming process of hand making the cheese in small batches, using fresh sweet milk from Iowa dairy farms.
Maytag Dairy Farms typically ages their cheese twice as long as most other blue cheese. That, along with the painstaking small batch process and exceptionally high quality ingredients, is what makes this cheese so special.
In addition to their famous blue cheese, they also offer many other types of cheese of incredibly high quality, like several varieties of cheddar cheese and a La Petite Blue, a soft ripened French style cheese delicately layered with Maytag mold.
