Winter doesn’t have to mean staying inside and forgoing any new adventures. Heck, with so much to do here in Iowa during all seasons, you don’t just have to survive winter, you can love it too! Here are 10 ways to do that:

1. Hit the slopes at Sundown Mountain Ski Resort in Dubuque.

2. And take a lift at Seven Oaks Recreation in Boone.

3. Grab a sled and take the kids out to your local sledding hill.

4. Or enjoy a scenic sleigh ride through the snow at Jester Park Equestrian Center in Granger.

6. And if you're not that great on skates yourself, watch the pros skate around the rink at an Iowa Wild hockey game at Wells Fargo Arena.

8. Perfect your hot chocolate recipe, or just enjoy a hot chocolate from your local coffee shop.

9. Warm up, and get your creative juices flowing with a day at your local art museum.
